Abstract Submission
The University of Manchester is pleased to announce that the 14th annual International Festival of Public Health will take place on Tuesday 14th July 2026
This year's festival will be delivered in person in Manchester.
The festival presents you with the opportunity to present your work to people working in public health and related fields from around the UK and internationally.
This year's Festival will have five main themes: 'Global Public Health', 'Commercial Determinants of Health', 'Research Inclusion', 'AI and Public Health' and 'Women's Health'. Abstract submission does not have to be confined to these subjects and there will be no weighting applied to this topic when abstracts are chosen.
Abstract submission is now open and will close on Sunday 29th March.
You can choose to present in a poster presentation, oral presentation format, or to organise a workshop/special session. Details regarding timings and format of both sessions will be provided to you upon acceptance of your abstract for presentation as decided by the Scientific Organising Committee.
Please click the "upload abstract" button here or to the left to submit your abstract for presentation (when abstract submission reopens). There are no set rules on the format of your abstract, but it should be appropriate to the content provided.
Abstract guidelines
For most abstracts, we would expect them to follow a standard abstract format (i.e. Background, Methods, Results, Discussion), however, we understand that this is not suitable for all abstracts. As such, we expect you to choose the appropriate format for the work you wish to present at the Festival. Abstracts should be no longer than 250 words.
Workshop/special session
If you wish to organise a full session (lasting approximately 1 hour), there is an option to run a workshop/special session. When submitting your abstract, we will require the below details:
- Session title
- Session chair
- Details of all speakers/contributors
- Workshop/special session abstract
- Style of session (e.g. roundtable, workshop etc.)
- Details regarding any special requirements (e.g. room configuration)
