Accommodation

Accommodation

There will be a collection service from Manchester Airport.

The first day will be spent getting to know your location, engaging in a social activity with Manchester students and preparing for our first programmed activity on Monday. The course will finish on Friday 16th August. Students should arrange onward travel on Saturday 17th or Sunday 18th August. We will arrange travel to Manchester Airport on that day.

Students will benefit from quality secure accommodation during at the 4 weeks of the course. The accommodation is based at the comfortable self-catering Sanctuary Students residence on Denmark Road, which is in close proximity to The University of Manchester.

You will have an en-suite room with a double bed for luxury student living. Rooms are grouped together with a shared, self-catering kitchen for six and a spacious lounge. Other facilities include 10MB broadband and WiFi, an on-site laundry and games room.

There are frequent buses from Oxford Road to the city centre for students to explore the vibrant life of Manchester, its museums, theatres, a thriving music scene and two major football clubs.

What to bring

We recommend bringing the following items:

  • An umbrella, as Manchester is a rainy city!
  • A good waterproof coat, to keep you warm and dry.
  • Sturdy footwear as we’ll be walking around the city and sometimes in the countryside.
  • A backpack or daypack for carrying your belongings when on field trips.
  • Sun protection cream, a hat and sunglasses for good weather.
  • Warm clothes such as jumpers, coats and hats for night time activities, outdoor excursions and bad weather.

If you forget anything, there are plenty of shops in the city centre where you can find all of the essential items.
