Joe Swan
Joe Swan is a polio communications officer for the World Health Organization and the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. From Australia and based in Geneva, Switzerland, his current area of focus is the rollout of a new oral polio vaccine for outbreak response, nOPV2. Prior to joining WHO Headquarters in 2018, Joe worked in Amman, Jordan, as part of WHO’s regional Syria emergency support team and regional polio eradication hub. He has undertaken field missions in Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan and occupied Palestinian territory.
